I can't believe it's been a year since I became the first Associate Photographer of Peter Hurley in this part of the world. I will always be grateful to him for his mentorship in my journey as a headshot photographer. But as they say, there can only be one Peter Hurley. So I had to find my own niche as a headshot photographer.

Headshots are predominantly used in the USA for the entertainment industry and is a must for aspiring actors and models. Since the entertainment industry in New Zealand is quite small, we ventured into the corporate and business world where we found our niche. I applied the same principles that Peter taught me to corporate professionals, which is to create a confident and engaging look that connects with the people they are talking to. There are just too many disengaged headshots around and we are slowly transforming those one headshot at a time.

In the past 12 months alone, I've racked up nearly 150 headshot sessions, meeting different people of all shapes and sizes, ethnicity and professional status. Bernie and I will never run out of headshot session stories to tell because of those experiences and it is continuing to grow. Here's to more years of shooting headshots...engaging headshots that is.
